CJP Broadcast has achieved ISO 14001 certification, building on the environmental work already established across the business. This gives CJP a recognised Environmental Management System for setting objectives, monitoring performance and supporting continual improvement across its operations.
Building on a sustainability programme already delivering measurable results, CJP has been independently certified as carbon neutral since the 2023/24 period and has maintained that certification every year since, measuring its annual footprint and offsetting the remaining emissions through certified projects.
Our focus is firmly on reducing emissions at source. CJP’s organisational carbon footprint fell from 46.85 tCO₂e in 2023/24 to 38.73 tCO₂e in 2024/25, a year-on-year reduction of 17.3%. Direct Scope 1 emissions more than halved over the same period, from 4.75 to 2.09 tCO₂e.
Managing our environmental impact
Achieving certification involved reviewing where CJP’s activities interact with the environment, from energy and carbon impacts to waste management, procurement, compliance and our supply chain.
In practice, this includes managing and segregating waste streams such as cardboard and paper, wood and pallets, metals, copper cabling and electrical and electronic equipment, with reuse and recycling wherever practicable.
We also manage environmental impact from business travel, company vehicles, deliveries and project logistics, while monitoring energy use across our operations. This covers the lifecycle of the broadcast and AV systems we deliver, from equipment selection and installation through to reuse, recycling or responsible disposal.
Measuring our progress
Guided by the UK’s Science Based Targets, CJP has committed to reducing emissions by 50% by 2030. That requires a reduction of roughly 7.1% each year, so the 17.3% reduction achieved in our first year of measurement puts us ahead of that trajectory.
ISO 14001 gives us a structured way to continue measuring performance, identify where further improvements can be made and keep environmental considerations part of how we operate and deliver projects.
For customers and partners, the certification also provides independent assurance that CJP’s environmental commitments are backed by a formal, recognised management system.
