With spring underway and NAB Show 2025 just a couple of days away, we’re sharing updates from across the industry and our latest projects. This edition includes a look at how virtual production has evolved since the pandemic, details of a new green screen studio for TG4, a new MA course at Solent University, and information on Kieran Phillips’ attendance at NAB Show 2025.

Five years on: the impact of Covid on the broadcast industry
TVBEurope asked industry leaders to reflect on how the sector has changed since the start of the pandemic. Chris Phillips, Managing Director, shared his view on how virtual production has moved from a niche tool to a core part of content creation.
He also discussed the growing importance of hybrid workflows and the role of education in equipping students with the right skills for this shift – something CJP has actively supported through its VP studio installations and training programmes.

New green screen studio for TG4
CJP has delivered a new green screen studio for TG4, the Irish-language broadcaster based in Galway. The upgraded facility replaces a previously cramped space used for weather broadcasts, offering improved comfort, flexibility, and room for future expansion into other formats.
Built with seamless chromakey design, the studio is already in use for daily weather and continuity, and TG4 is now exploring opportunities in children’s TV and sports continuity using virtual environments.

Solent University launches MA in Virtual Production
Solent University has launched a new master’s course in Virtual Production, designed to prepare students for real-world roles across film, TV, and live events. The course is supported by a bespoke studio, designed and integrated by CJP, giving students hands-on experience with LED volume, green screen, and motion capture technology from day one.
It’s part of a growing trend we’re seeing across higher education – investing in industry-standard facilities to equip the next generation with the tools and experience they need.

Supporting the Royal National College for the Blind
Kieran recently visited the Royal National College for the Blind (RNC), joining local organisations for a tour of the campus and its departments.
The visit offered valuable insight into the assistive technology and skills being taught, and how the college supports students in developing independence and confidence. It was a chance to speak with both the staff and students to find out more about what daily life is like at RNC – plus meet the students hoping to join CJP for work experience this summer!
Thank you to the team at RNC for the warm welcome and for sharing the incredible work you do.
