Reflection on CJP Work Experience Week
Mo’s work experience week at CJP was an immersive journey into the world of marketing and video production. As a final-year student from the Royal National College for the Blind (RNC), Mo embarked on this opportunity with the ambition to create an informative video for his charity, Accessible Ummah.
During the week, Mo collaborated closely with the CJP team, benefiting from their expertise and guidance. Louis Shaw, Technician at CJP, said, “Working with Mo was a pleasure. His great attitude and clear focus on what he wanted to achieve made the process smooth and efficient.” Mo’s hands-on experience with CJP’s state-of-the-art in-house Virtual Production (VP) studio allowed him to engage with advanced industry technologies, significantly enhancing his technical proficiency.
Building his professional network was another key focus for Mo. Under the guidance of Kieran Phillips, Director of Sales & Marketing, Mo created a LinkedIn profile and learned the essentials of professional networking and personal branding. Kieran noted, “It’s been great to see Mo’s growth over the week. His commitment to the video project and his charity is highly commendable.”
Kieran also provided insights into marketing activities within the broadcast technology sector. The CJP team, with support from Manor Marketing, assisted him in exploring strategies for launching his film and discussed potential career paths in marketing. This comprehensive experience provided Mo with a well-rounded mix of hands-on creative work and professional development which aligned with his interests and goals.
Chris Phillips, Managing Director at CJP, commented, “Having Mo with us for a week was a positive experience for our team. His enthusiasm and willingness to learn were evident throughout his stay. His dedication to his film project, the launch of his charity, and his curiosity about our industry were noteworthy. Mo’s presence highlighted the value of diverse perspectives in our field, and we believe his unique viewpoint will be an asset in his future endeavours. This experience has reinforced our commitment to providing opportunities for students from varied backgrounds, and we’re keen to continue our relationship with The Royal National College for the Blind.”
